Mental Mouth Talk For The Moment

Do This, Be That, This Is How It Should Be Done, You're Wrong, I'm Right, Do You Know Who I Know, Where Did You Study, What Makes You Think You Have The Knowledge To Participate. DO AS I SAY! LISTEN TO ME AND NOT THEM!

Everyone "loves" to give their opinion - which you should. Some less than most, but everyone has a different view no matter how similar or far apart one's "outlook on life" is. I find this amazing that we are all humans with the same interior and exterior bodily framework, but the unique mental thought process - WOW.

To me, our opinions are the equivalent to our personalities. Every decision, choice, lifestyle, and projection are the result from our opinion on how we see the world, want the world to follow and want the world to become.

But if we push our opinions on others, and the world, to make the changes we deem necessary in our minds, can this be dangerous or progressive?

Strap in reader(s) - it's open Mic night and I have the stage.

As we go through life our opinions change due to the inevitable life experiences we encounter. In most cases, opinions are not concrete. They are ever changing since the world around us with everything in it changes every second, of every hour of every day.

As a small example, just look at what someone (or yourself) did / said 10 years ago and admitted their (your) choice of opinion was wrong. Opinionated personalities "mature."

Now, can this be dangerous? Making an opiniated decision to pass a law, rule or regulation and then having to overturn it because what we "thought" worked then "doesn't" work now? Are we ever changing to make things "right" in the present? How do we know who we really "wronged" with our judgement call? In the end, we are only left to admit we were wrong or defend our "mutating" opinion.

To make this more interesting, let's look at two types opinions and the impact they had on world:

1) Abraham Lincoln - Had the opinion that slavery was absolutely wrong and fought for the Unites States of America to adopt the Emancipation Proclamation.

2) Adolf Hitler - Had the opinion that Jewish people were the problem and fought for Nazi Germany to create Concentration Camps.

Two opinions. The first humanly correct. The second humanly wrong.

As a species, we are evolving every day. If we want to make any impact with our opinions, we need to make sure our opinion is worldly and encompasses the greater good of humans. If we need to implement our opinions, we need to sell the "follow me" approach. However, we need to be conscious that we don't create an opinionated mold for nefarious reasons.

In closing, we all need to share our thoughts openly - no matter how far off we may be from each other. You never really know someone until you start speaking to them. But don't use a personal opinion that is only good for yourself, or a selected group, while leaving others out to dry in the desert. Opinions can be dangerous. Put yourself in someone else's shoes before making an opiniated judgement call.
