Media for the Public

Updated: Nov 26, 2020

To The Peter Parker's And Clark Kent's Of The World

The news and media outlets are an outreach to understand what events are happening around the world 24x7x365. There is no way we can have superior eyes and ears like Superman or a tingling "Spidy" sense like Spiderman. So we have reporters, journalist and camera operators stationed around the world to provide us with real time information. Thank you to those who have chosen this career path - it definitely isn't an easy one.

Notice: Regardless of what political party you associate yourself with (if you have one) or what media outlet you tune into (if you do), that's your choice and is not part of this discussion. To each your own. Keep using God's gift of free will.

Strap in reader(s) - it's open Mic night and I have the stage.

I am amazed that in the United States of America, there is a two sided spectrum that is still being pumped into the public nervous system -Those of Democrats and Republicans. Really? We only have two dominant ways to understand the world, politics, interpretations on what a politician or public / private figure just clearly stated? Come on now. We do have many political tickets, but I ask you this, were do they really have the clout, soap box platform, and funding with the current bi-partisan media masters. No where. They are diminished and belittled because they don't have the power or money like the Donkey (Democratic Party) and Elephant (Republican Party).

Here's something that has always been on my mind. Why do we have reporters and journalists sit in front of a camera or write a column repeating what someone just said and putting their spin / opinion on it? Report what you just heard. Now you may be saying, well that's their job and they need to uncover / interpret the truth behind the white teeth chatter. True- but I am going throw this into the universe. THE GENERAL PUBLIC DOESN'T UNDERSTAND WHATS REALLY HAPPENING OR WHAT YOUR’RE SAYING!

Let's put it this way. If your occupation is a plumber and I am a Scientist and start speaking in scientific terms you've never heard of and don't understand you will either mentally check out or agree with me because I have on a white coat and credentials. Right or wrong? Will you really start asking questions with something you have no interest in because you consider it hard to understand?

So, here's what I think that needs to be done to improve antenna talk and have the public interested. We need to task the media to actually break down the issues without any acronyms or circle talk analogies. Just tell us what the issue is, where it come from, where it currently is and where it's going. Be a news media teacher. Let us understand the issue and then tell us what you think. You will then empower public interest to be engaged in current matters. If your stating a Bill is being signed, tell us what the Bill is and exactly what's in it.

Here's something else the media should check into- Debates. Seriously, do you think the general public has the understanding of the questions being asked and the responses given? Nope. The media needs to break down the question for everyone to understand. The candidates only have a few minutes to respond and are interrupted most of the time. Give the candidates more time to break down their answers and eliminate the blanket answer of "I HAVE A PLAN IN PLACE." Make a change. The public needs to know exactly what‘s in a plan. Sit down with us and describe it to us. This is your profession. What's the cover-up? You don't have time? The American people are your time and responsibility.
